What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda – “the knowledge of life” – is a 5,000-year-old traditional Indian healing art.

Using visual diagnosis (Darshana) and questioning (Prashna), the Ayurvedic doctor determines the current relationship between the patient's life energies (doshas). These examination methods – visual diagnosis and questioning – must be used to obtain a complete, holistic picture of the patient's condition.

From this, the function and health of the holistic body-mind constitution is discussed, a diagnosis is made, and the cause of disease symptoms is identified. In this way, warning signs that precede diseases and their causes can be detected and treated at an early stage.
